Transportation Funding
America's transportation system is in a state of continuously increasing disrepair and neglect due to two decades of insufficient funding. Rebuilding our nations decaying mainstream transportation infrastructure requires substantial funding increases and a rethinking of Highway Trust Fund priorities. Americans need a safe, seamless, multi-modal transportation system. When road and bridge conditions deteriorate, all users' safety is in jeopardy. Changing the funding source for bicycle and hiking trails does not diminish their import, it simply asks for highway sourced funding to be dedicated to highway repairs.
