MILLVILLE, N.J. (May 5, 2025) – Nearly a month after a tragic fire in Millville, AAA South Jersey has raised more than $3,000 and collected hundreds of material goods for the victims of the blaze. One hundred percent of the proceeds have been given to the victims.

The fire on April 9 killed two young sisters and displaced more than 20 people.

AAA South Jersey partnered with the American Red Cross and the Holly City Development Corporation to deliver the items directly to the affected families. The donation includes more than $1,350 worth of gift cards to local establishments like ShopRite, Walmart, Target, and several Millville-area restaurants to help the families get back on their feet.

During AAA South Jersey’s Millville office grand opening event on Saturday, April 19, attendees donated more than $1,000 in gift cards and $200 in cash, as well as boxes of toiletries, toys, diapers, and clothing for the victims.

“The support from the South Jersey community with this collection has been overwhelming. It has been heartening to see the community come together to help out our neighbors in need at what is one of the lowest points in their lives,” AAA spokesperson Matt Bowker said.

All clothing items were donated to the Hope Center in Millville to those in need.
