That’s what newlyweds Gianna Hofmann and Marco DeStefano did, working with AAA South Jersey travel agent Cheryl Chambers to plan their European honeymoon.
The Audubon couple tied the knot in Cape May last spring after meeting six years ago at Morgan’s Pier in Philadelphia.
AAA South Jersey spoke with Mrs. DeStefano about their experience.
Q: Do you travel often?
A: We try to travel as much as we can, but this was our first time going to Europe together.
Q: What made you decide on a honeymoon in Europe?
A: Marco had been doing research and Switzerland looked breathtaking. Marco’s family is from Italy, so we wanted to make a few stops there too.
Q: Did you have a favorite part of the trip?
A: Zermatt, Switzerland was both of our favorites out of all the cities we visited. It took our breath away how beautiful it was. The town has all of the classic Switzerland architecture and there are no cars. We highly suggest taking the cable car up to Glacier Paradise to see the Matterhorn. That was a highlight for both of us!
Q: Was this your first time using a travel agent?
A: This was our first time using a travel agent.
Q: Would you recommend to others using a travel agent for honeymoon planning?
A: Yes, using a travel agent for the honeymoon was so helpful. We wanted to see so many different cities on our way from Venice, Italy to Zurich, Switzerland and Cheryl made it a breeze for us. It was a very travel-heavy trip with all of the trains, buses, and boats which would’ve been very difficult for us to figure out ourselves. Our hotels were perfect, and Cheryl knew the right amount of time to stay in each location to see everything we wanted to see. Using a travel agent for the honeymoon made everything so much easier while planning a wedding!
