Staff Accountant
AAA South Jersey is looking for a dynamic individual to join our organization as a full-time Staff Accountant with the opportunity for increased responsibilities and potential career advancement. This position is a hybrid position, working remotely and in our Voorhees, NJ office.

In this position, you will support the Accounting Department by performing day to day accounting tasks, accounting analysis, month end closing activities, analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare journal entries based on review of supporting reconciliations and schedules.
- Participates in month and year end closing and audit processes.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Reviews and reconciles banking statements.
- Contributes to the preparation of consolidated financial statements including balance sheet and profit/loss statements, reviews financial statements monthly.
- Assists in the management of the daily cash position and point of sale functions of the Club.
- Assists in managing the budget process for AAASJ and monitors financials, distributing reports to management.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Ensures accurate and appropriate recording of revenue and expenses.
- Assists and responds to CFO, auditors, management, and staff questions / requests and requirements for information.
- Provide support to streamline accounting processes and procedures to bring about process improvements
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business, or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting and/or financial analysis function
- Strong analytical skills along with ability to solve problems, interpret financial statements and understand account and financial concepts
- Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.
- Experience working with accounting systems
- Highly detail and deadline oriented with the ability to prioritize, focus and thrive in a high paced multi-tasking environment.
- Strong verbal and written skills along with good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel
