
Many people hear the term disruptive technology and panic begins to set in. But reflecting on the most impactful technological advances of the 20th century, the automobile revolutionized transportation.

Educating and advocating for safety on our roadways has been a long-standing passion of the AAA Federation. However, when it comes to the welfare of our highway emergency workers and first responders, there is still work to be done.

This past October, I had the honor of experiencing my second Viking River Cruise, along with 35 AAA members eager to create memories. This year’s CEO trip took place aboard a Viking Longship and explored the Danube.

This year, the AAA South Jersey Driving School is celebrating its 10th anniversary. AAA has long been an advocate for the motoring public. What better way to promote traffic safety than to teach the drivers ourselves?

Our latest adventure took me through the bustling streets of Palermo, the ancient ruins of Agrigento, and the picturesque town of Taormina. Each destination offered a unique glance into Sicily’s rich tapestry of food, culture, and architecture.

The new year is time for renewal. The calendar resets and we establish new goals and expectations for the year ahead. Along with the new year comes the laborious challenge of operating our vehicles in the harsh winter conditions. Severe weather can be both frightening and dangerous.

As we prepare to close out 2017, it seems an appropriate time to look back on our history, while looking forward to our future. This year marked AAA South Jersey’s 90th anniversary and our 20th year in our Voorhees location.

Back in 2009, former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine signed a bill into law which has come to be known as the “Slow Down, Move Over” law. The law states that motor vehicles approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle, tow truck, highway maintenance or emergency service vehicle and traveling in the same direction must move over to a non-adjacent lane if possible, or slow down.

For years, we’ve been hearing about the internet is going to make certain products and services obsolete. With a few clicks on the keyboard, it was said, you can get almost anything. And not only could you get anything you wanted, it was delivered right to your door or computer.
