Day 1: Athens

Kalimera! Welcome to Greece! Upon arrival at the airport, take your included transfer to the hotel, taking some time to get settled before the Welcome Meeting.  Here you will meet your Local Leader and discuss your upcoming adventure. After the welcome meeting join your leader for Welcome dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2: Athens

Today you’ll get to know ancient Athens during visits to two of the city’s most famous sites. Your Local Leader will bring history to life as you visit Temple of Olympian Zeus, the largest temple in all of Greece. Then it’s on to the famous Acropolis, one of the Western world’s most important historical structures. Meet with an Insider Expert who will provide profound insight into the history and legacy of the civilizations who lived in this ancient citadel. Start with an ascent to the top via the towering entrance, the Propylaia. Once inside, encounter the Parthenon – the greatest Doric temple in the ancient world. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy on your own.

Day 3: Athens to Syros

Cruising the glistening blue waters of Greece, we ferry toward Syros — a hidden gem of the Islands where Greek tradition and western influence exist harmoniously. When you arrive, your local leader will take you on a wander through the main town of Ermoupolis. After the walk have lunch at one of the local restaurants. Syros is also home to delicious sweets, so a stop at a family run traditional loukoumi workshop will happen next.  Here you will see how the loukoumi and chalvadopita are made – make sure you try some of them!  In the evening, join your leader for a picnic on the beach and enjoy some local delights with the best view Syros can offer.

Day 4: Syros

We wander this morning through the fortress-like town of Ana Syros — with its cathedral dedicated to Saint George and amazing views of the Aegean Sea. Meander up the stairs to the top of the hill — passing through narrow streets with traditional houses — before reaching breathtaking views of the island. Enjoy some free time to further explore Syros, discovering abandoned windmills, ancient ruins and charming villages on a network of stone-paved tracks that crisscross the island. In the evening, take taxis to a taverna to a remotely located village in the rugged northern part of the island to sample delicious local specialties during an included meal, all while watching the sun set over the Aegean Sea.

Day 5: Syros to Mykonos

We ferry this morning toward Mykonos. The most popular Greek Island in the Aegean Sea is all about energy and attracts a diverse and upscale crowd that thrives on its stylish nightlife.  Join your leader for a walk through the maze-like old town and be captivated by the quintessential Greek Isles vista of squat white houses brightly juxtaposed against the cerulean sea. Browse the chic galleries and boutiques, follow flower-lined paths past age-old churches and tiny restaurants to secluded, sandy beaches, and spend the afternoon soaking up the rays and splashing in the water. As the sun sets, maybe join Europe's party crowd at one of the many bars and clubs on Mykonos, or take a more traditional approach with a meal at a delightful backstreet restaurant.

Day 6: Mykonos

This morning you will take a half-day trip out to the nearby island of Delos. One of the most important archaeological and mythological sites in the Greek Islands. The island is overflowing with archaeological finds like the Terrace of the Lions and the Sacred Precinct, with many more still being uncovered. Later on today you might like to head to one of Mykonos' many beaches, which are some of the nicest in Europe.

Day 7: Mykonos to Santorini

Our last stop is the island of Santorini, known for iconic blue-domed buildings clinging to its cliff face. Today is unscripted, leaving you plenty of time to explore: perhaps discover the hilltop ruins of Ancient Thera and its prehistoric museum or maybe spend the day checking out the restaurants and shops in the island’s capital, Thera.

Day 8: Santorini

Today visit one of the island’s wineries and enjoy a tasting of five different wines offered. The vines here are cultivated in a very unusual way, with the plants being pruned to form a low basket shape that sits on top of the volcanic soil to protect the grapes from strong winds. On the last evening of your adventure, join your local leader for Farewell dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day 9: Santorini

Our Grecian adventure ends today with an included transfer to the Santorini airport.
